Use your Step Up scholarship for movement classes at Playce Academy Athletics.
Families with PEP or FES-UA scholarships may use eligible scholarship funds for our classes.
Playce is an approved Step Up For Students provider (PEP and FES-UA). Approved purchases are paid to Playce directly inside the EMA Marketplace — here's the whole walkthrough, step by step. Eligibility for each purchase is determined by Step Up For Students under the applicable purchasing guide.
Five simple steps
From scholarship to your child's first class. You only actively do one step — the rest is on us.
- 1
Have a Step Up scholarship
Your family qualifies through PEP (homeschool — any income) or FES-UA (children with unique abilities). Don't have one yet? Apply with Step Up For Students.
- 2
Enroll your child at Playce
Browse our movement classes and pick the ones that fit your child and your week. It only takes a couple of minutes to get started.
- 3The one step you do
Reserve funds in EMA
This is the one step you do yourself. Open your EMA Marketplace, search “Playce Academy Athletics”, and reserve funds for the Fitness Classes offering — choosing how many months you'd like covered.

Your child comes to class
Bring your child to their classes and let them move, play, and grow. That's the fun part — and the only part that really matters to them.
- 5
We bill your scholarship — directly
For approved purchases, Playce invoices Step Up directly inside EMA — you never fill out a reimbursement claim. We handle the billing on our side.

Common questions
- Does this cost my family anything?
- For approved purchases, your scholarship pays Playce directly inside EMA — there's no card to add and no reimbursement claim. Eligibility for each purchase is determined by Step Up For Students, so confirm coverage in your EMA account before enrolling.
- Can I use my scholarship for PE or parkour?
- Yes. Our movement, parkour, and homeschool PE classes count as Physical Education — an eligible expense under the Step Up PEP and FES-UA purchasing guidelines. No pre-authorization is needed; just confirm current eligibility in your EMA account.
- What if my scholarship funds aren't in yet?
- Scholarship funds are deposited into families' EMA accounts quarterly (four times per year), per Step Up For Students. Go ahead and enroll now — then reserve your funds in EMA as soon as they land. We'll keep your child's spot ready.
- Do I have to do the invoicing?
- No — that part is on us. Once your funds are reserved, Playce submits the invoice to Step Up. You only ever reserve; we do the rest.
- Which scholarship do I use?
- Either PEP (for homeschool families, any income) or FES-UA (for children with unique abilities). Eligibility for each purchase is determined by Step Up For Students under the applicable purchasing guide — confirm coverage in your EMA account.
- How do I find Playce in the Marketplace?
- Search the exact name “Playce Academy Athletics” and reserve the Fitness Classes offering. That's us.
- Where are classes held?
- In the Carrollwood area of north Tampa — serving Carrollwood, Northdale, Lutz, Citrus Park, Westchase, and the surrounding communities.
Wondering what else counts?
Playce Academy is an independent business. Approved-provider status does not mean Step Up For Students endorses or recommends Playce Academy.
